 Dentist appointments today--Ellie's first & Gavin's second. EVER. We really should increase the frequency... Yay for no cavities though! They did great & enjoyed watching a show on the ceiling TV.

 A little DIY project today. This poor table is just over ten years old & needed a fresh start--especially after Ellie's watercoloring session the other day. Normally I put a plastic tablecloth on, but not that day. Didn't realize how non-washable those washable watercolors are on unsealed wood!

It already had marker stains & cup rings... it was time. My trusty assistant:

 Mowed the lawn for the first time this year too... except for under the trampoline. Even my trusty assistant & I could not move it. We'll save that & the edging for Darin. :)

It rained almost all day today. Ellie had 2 playdates back to back, & then after dinner when the rain finally let up, these guys couldn't wait to get a little jumping in.

 Fresh out of a shower after a haircut. I had a $5 coupon for SportClips, & I thought Gavin would like to go get his hair cut at a place like that... but I was wrong. Even my "coupon" logic didn't hold water. He countered, "But you could cut it for free!" So even though Darin is the usual hair cutter here, I got out the clippers because I could not stand the long side hair any more. It only took about 5 minutes, & I admit, he was right. Not bad, eh? Love the fading enthusiasm for the photos.

Ellie has quite a cache of movie or TV show quotes which she'll break out at just the right moment, then give credit. (e.g., "I don't think he wants to be part of our family." said when Greyson was crying... "That's from 'Olivia.'" or "See ya, chumps!" As she rides her bike down the sidewalk... "That's from 'Wreck it Ralph.'") She also has some fun original material. Today she started to go outside during lunch, & I said, "Wait Ellie, you need to finish your lunch first." & she said, "But I'm just TRYING OUT the sun." & later, she was playing a game on Disney Jr., & Greyson was trying to get up in the chair with her when she said, "Mom, can you take Greyson? I just want my OWN company." Less screen time may be in order... if I could handle it!

So, Darin was in China January 13-31 (including 8 days with me there), home on February 1st for the whole month, then gone March 1-22, & now April 6-26. That'll be 63 days this year so far by the time he gets home. Some people at church think I'm a single mom. :) My kind of single motherhood has its challenges, & I pray for more patience every day, but I sure love these guys & wouldn't trade them for anything in the world! Grateful for Darin who works so hard, & thankful for Skype, but we miss him! Today's RS lesson was good for me to hear. Our teacher also read this blog post & did the object lesson described. I've been rereading some of my favorite conference talks that seemed to be given just for me. All in all, trying to be the best mom I can be, not always succeeding, but still trying "day by day!"

 Ellie & Greyson joined Gavin for reading time tonight. & Yes! Gavin's first tooth did come out today, during Math. He said, "I just twisted it, & it came right out!" Yayyyy!!! It's only been 48 days since it first became loose... is this normal!!?? From the looks of things, the second one is not far behind.
