213/366

At lunchtime, Ellie asked, "What should we do, Mom?" We're trying to pack in some fun things before Gavin starts school one week from today! We decided on a crayon project I'd been wanting to try for awhile. When Darin came home from work, we went to the pool, where Gavin worked on perfecting the cannonball!

Darin worked a half-day in the morning, then came home to swim!

After 26 days, the kids were finally reunited with their dad (it's been 21 days for me). There was lots of hugging happening at the airport, especially by Greyson. His hugs even continued once we got home. It's so good to be together again!

210/366

We revived an old favorite today: Phase 10. Gavin asked to play it (he'd never played before). I taught him, & he almost beat me! We actually tied on points & phases, but I got rid of my cards first on the last phase. Meanwhile, jumping in at the pool has become running & jumping on day 2. Disclaimer: I was the "no running!" mom for the first 30 minutes, but realizing it was futile, I became the "good job!" mom.

We got excited about the start of the Olympics. I did a little online research last night about the history, events, etc. & shared it with the kids over breakfast. Then we made some edible Olympic rings. Discussion of the rings led to a lesson on the continents, which Gavin memorized! But the most exciting thing today was receiving our community pool key card in the mail! We immediately got our suits on & headed over to the pool. By the time we left, after two hours, Gavin was jumping in from the edge on his own (something he refused to do all through two weeks of swimming lessons last year).

We went & tried some Hawaiian shave ice this afternoon, & they did not disappoint. It's been hot! Oh, & in case you were wondering, the plastic cups are now in a drawer instead of a cabinet, but just as accessible as they used to be. I couldn't take away one of Greyson's favorite hobbies!

Greyson had a rather productive sneeze today, & I managed to capture it for posterity. Other goings-on include my best word score yet on Words with Friends, which I also captured for posterity. I've been hooked on this game ever since Riley got me started on New Years Eve. Want to play?

206/366

Gavin helped me make this fun jello since Ron & Morgan were coming for dinner. After dinner we walked over to Fuller Park (where I took no pictures!) All I got were these blurry phone pics right before they left for the night, but we had fun & it was great to see them again!

205/366

We were excited to see Ron & Morgan today--Morgan came to help her dad with some work at Scentsy. We met them for dinner at Cafe Rio, then went to Kleiner Park. I called Morgan, "Aunt Morgan" a couple times... she's so good at playing with these guys, & they love it! Greyson kept wanting to go to Uncle Ron, then would lay his head on Ron's shoulder, giving him hug after hug. I think he misses his dad!

202/366

With all the hullabaloo, we hadn't taken Greyson's one year photo in the chair! He's a big boy (21 pounds compared to Ellie's 25), has 8 teeth: 4 on top, 4 on bottom, he's been walking for a few weeks, claps his hands on command, gives the best hugs (also on command... or is it by request?), recently switched from formula to whole milk & loves it just as much. Hasn't taken a pacifier since he was about  3 or 4 months old. Can say "da" for "Dad" & knows what he's talking about. He's just starting to be hard to handle at church, & I'm still trying to get used to him as a blonde. Love him! For reference:
