We're having highs in the mid-upper 40's all week! Today called for some more leaf raking... & leaf pile jumping & leaf throwing. Tonight at dinner, somewhat out of the blue, Gavin said, "Sometimes I wonder if this is all just one big dream." I snapped this picture of him on my way to bed. Dream on, Gav!

It was nice enough to take a picture outside this afternoon--upper 40's! We get excited about that.
Ellie was not feeling it though, & zonked out on the couch five minutes later.

We got home tonight after a couple errands, & these guys claimed they were too tired to go up to bed.

Made bread today... probably the most exciting thing about the day--if you don't count laundry. I was ready for a day in though, after an especially busy Wednesday of RS business.

I'd been thinking I needed to get some kind of exercise program going. I looked for a workout show on TV to record, & all I could find was Denise Austin at 6:00am (I used to do Denise Austin's show just after Gavin was born, 5 years ago). This one was probably from the mid-80's though. She said, "Isn't it nice to be able to do this in your own living room, with your TV & VCR?" Gavin said, "What's a VCR?" We also had this little conversation: Gavin: "Mom, can she see us?" Me: "No, this was recorded a long time ago. Why?" Gavin: "Because she keeps saying, 'Good!... That's it... You're doing a great job!'..." :)

Someone else expressed an interest in the highchair today... so when she asked for Cheetos at lunch, I seized the opportunity. Remind me to never buy those again.

After seeing Greyson almost wiggle out of the Bumbo on the table a few times (despite his thunder thighs), we retired the Bumbo & broke out the highchair. He loves it, & so do I! He's great company while working in the kitchen, & he continues to be a really good eater--so far he's tried squash, sweet potatoes & green beans along with his rice cereal.

Another Sunday... they come so fast! We tried something new today--gave Ellie a nap at 5:00. She woke up around 7:00 & went to bed at her normal time. We'll go with it!

We recently received Brett & Kristi-Lynn's New Year's card, which officially marks the end of the Holiday season. I enjoy having these up though! They might stay there a little longer...

Compare this to yesterday's backyard pic. It was still raining when we woke up, & all that was left of the snow was a little slush where we had piled it from shoveling. That was short-lived, & I can't say I'm sad about it! Ellie has taken to Greyson a lot more lately. She talks to him a lot & likes to bring him toys... They do have a lot in common--they both love pacis, naps & wear the same size diapers.

We woke up to snow, & it snowed most of the day! Darin shoveled before he went to work, & it was covered again by the afternoon. When Gavin came home from school, he & Ellie played in the snow while I shoveled the driveway again, & it started RAINING while we were out there! It continued to rain into the night.

We hadn't been to the library in forever either! We're getting back into the swing of things after the holidays. Greyson was a sweetheart to tag along without a peep.

A good Sunday. Still trying to get used to the schedule--we need to structure our morning a little better. Ellie was able to accomplish all this (below) BEFORE church! And tonight, the volcano did erupt... although maybe a little anti-climactic.

Darin & Gavin started working on this volcano yesterday, pouring the plaster into the mold. Today they painted it. Tomorrow it will erupt. Oh, the anticipation!

Greyson had his first rice cereal today... and loved it! No tears like his brother & sister had with their first taste. They were both younger, so I'm convinced that waiting until 6 months was the key. Either that, or this guy's just a natural born eater.

Ellie supports & subscribes to Buddy the Elf's idea of the four main food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corns & syrup (throw in marshmallows for good measure). Unfortunately, we had Halloween candy & now Christmas candy left over, & she continues to find it & eat it. She pushes a chair up to the counter to access what she wants any time of the day. This was her last free-for-all though. I put it all in a ziploc bag up high on a pantry shelf, leaving only a glass canister of suckers out (which she cannot open herself) to be used just on occasion (or when I need a little extra leverage)... it's powerful stuff.

Gavin went to Walmart with Darin Saturday night to exchange an Obi Wan Kenobi action figure & a Lego helicopter set he got from Grandma & Grandpa Bishop for Christmas (because he already had the exact ones!) He came home with this nifty Hot Wheels Speed and Splash Duel Playset & a couple new cars. It has been a hit--these guys beg for a bath & stay in until the water gets cold!

Hangin' with gross & grosser. These pictures were taken back to back--Greyson's dealing with the end of a cold & has some really productive sneezes that clean his nose out. Darin's biopsy showed basal cell carcinoma, like my forehead, so he had Mohs surgery today to remove the bad cells. The bandage was insufficient... it bled & bled all evening. Poor guys!

Just the boys today after church... Our new 1:00-4:00 church schedule is NOT our favorite. Ellie survived Sacrament meeting, did great in nursery (so they said), but was beyond worn out by the time we get home & ate dinner. I resisted putting her down for a nap at 5:00, because she would've slept until 8:00, so we dealt with her deliriousness, & she went to bed at 8:00. We'll see how it goes this year... considering moving to get a new church schedule. Kidding! (kind of).

Greyson is a half year old today & sweet as ever. We spent the day cleaning & organizing... Darin worked in the garage, & I was in the house, with the kids helping us both, of course. ;) It was successful--Darin found Mom & Dad's KitchenAid in a box labeled, "ski boots," & I put the igloo tent away in Ellie's room, so you can now actually see the floor! Now to do something about those empty walls...
