Extreme close-up! Inspired by Brett's photos at New Years, we got a new clip-on flash for our Nikon D80, & Darin has been studying up and experimenting with it ever since. I do have to say, he's taken on the role of picture-of-the-day taker, and I'm liking it! You can actually see the reflection of the flash itself in Ellie's eye.

Gavin's "bunny blanket" was given to him in the hospital on the day he was born by one of Darin's coworkers at The Memory Company. He has preferred it over other blankets since he could talk! This winter, every night, he has to be covered up by his bunny blanket first, THEN the sheet & comforter because the sheets are too cold.

All in a day's work! Today was a pretty busy work day... doing price-checking online. On the bright side, I'm practicing to become a professional bargain shopper! On the OTHER bright side, at the end of the day, it's now the weekend!

Just thought it was time for an Ellie photo! This week's been a little Gavin-dominated. Ellie's had a stuffy nose the last couple of days, but has still been her happy, sweet, smiling self! Darin's been taking most of the pictures this week, so when I said we needed to take more pictures of Ellie, Darin said, "but Ellie doesn't do anything!" Nonsense, I say!

National Pancake Day! We went and had a free short stack of pancakes at IHOP (and donated $4 and change to the Children's Miracle Network). They were good--Gavin ate almost 2 and a half pancakes by himself!

We took another trip up to St. George to see some more Parade homes... there were some beautiful homes with amazing views! Brought the camera, only took ONE picture at one of the homes, and didn't get a single picture of our group (Susie, Patty, Vance, Clark, Darin, me & Ellie)! Unbelievable... We tag-teamed at the homes since we had Clark & Ellie asleep in the car almost the whole time. I did snap this one of Ellie in Gavin's sunglasses when she woke up.

Dinner at Gavin's "favorite restaurant," Sweet Tomatoes! He really does love it. He always gets peas, corn, kidney beans & grated cheese to serve as mix-ins for his mac & cheese (we started that in CO, when he was just 1 year old), then must have broccoli, jello, croutons (and other various things depending on the day) as side dishes. If we're ever discussing where to eat out, he'll ALWAYS suggest it, and he has been known to cry (or even tantrum) if it doesn't prevail...

Ellie rolled over for the first time today... at 16 weeks! And not just once--she did it over and over and over! Yep, she may be an over-achiever, as her Aunt Becky says.

President's Day. Susie & Will invited us up to St. George for the Parade of Homes. We picked Susie up then took a quick trip to check out Zion National Park. We'll have to come back and do some hiking at a later date! After the park, Gavin got to play with his Dixon cousins and Uncle Will while the rest of us (Susie, Mom, Dad, Darin & I) had just enough time to see 4 of the 25 Parade homes. We and the Skidmores are going back this Saturday to see some more. Fun day!

Gavin was playing "ice cream man" from the Land Cruiser. He was taking orders from the window, then going back to the back to see if they had it. What? No Rocky Road? What kind of ice cream man are you? I just hope I can get "It's A Small World" out of my head...

Another beautiful day... and the trampoline NEVER gets old! Gavin played at Lucas' house in the morning, and they went to story time at the library--something we haven't done in awhile. We'll be going to get our library cards asap!

As I was getting Ellie dressed for church today, Gavin called her "our pet leopard." The name stuck for the rest of the day! This afternoon we had a family Superbowl party--just the four of us. Even though the Colts lost, Darin had Gavin pretty into the game for awhile! Then Gavin helped me try a new recipe for dinner: cinnamon nutmeg waffles. Yum!

Today was a very rainy day. Grandma & Grandpa Gibson left this morning on a trip to Tucson to see Riley ordained to be a Teacher. The Dixons and Skidmores came over in the afternoon, and the cousins had fun playing & decorating heart shaped sugar cookies.

Gavin and his friend, Lucas, have a regular playdate now... Wednesday mornings at Lucas' house and Friday mornings at Gavin's house. They are in the same Sunbeam class and have a good time playing!
